The gig economy, typified by flexible, temporary employment often facilitated by digital platforms, has brought about paradigm shifts in traditional work patterns and dynamics. Her research aims to unravel the complex tapestry of professional growth in this gig economy. It seeks to understand how the workforce acquires new skills and competencies and adapts to shifting work models and technologies inherent to this economic sector. Biography In 2021, Yan earned her MSc from the University of Birmingham, which kickstarted her research career. Now, she dedicates her time to examining the interplay between the gig economy and aspects of training, learning, and development.
