Epidemiological EconomicsHaokun Pang

Haokun’s primary research interest is macroeconomics. He studies economic effects such as growth and income/wealth distribution from health, human capital, fiscal policies, etc. His methods are at the intersection of general equilibrium theory, continuous-time dynamic programming, and heterogeneous agent models. He also works on methodology research, applying modern machine learning (e.g., deep neural networks, reinforcement learning) to solve macroeconomic models.

Biography 

Haokun is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Economics at the University of Birmingham, supervised by Prof. Aditya Goenka. Before joining the University of Birmingham in 2019, Haokun obtained MSc and BSc degrees at Cardiff University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.
