On 2 November 2016, the University of Birmingham and the British Council in Singapore hosted the first '10 Minute Lectures' event, followed by an alumni reception.
Over 50 alumni attended three TED-style lectures delivered by leading University academics, covering topics such as diversity, enterprise and leadership development, to the future roles and skills of the ‘21st century public servant,’ and integrity management.
Speakers included Professor Kiran Trehan (Professor of Leadership and Enterprise Development; Academic Director for the Centre for Women’s Enterprise and Leadership (CWEL); and Co-Director of The Enterprise and Diversity Alliance (EDA)); Catherine Mangan (Director, Public Service Academy and Senior Fellow, Institute of Local Government Studies); and Niheer Dasandi (Birmingham Fellow in Government and Society and Research Fellow at the DLP (Developmental Leadership Program)).
