Dr Lila Kossyvaki
Dr Lila Kossyvaki is the Mentor for the Greek team and is responsible for Ethics on the Transforming Autism Education (TAE) project. Lila is a lecturer in Severe Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (SPMLD) at the University of Birmingham. She is also a Chartered Psychologist and a specialist teacher. Lila has worked on a number of research projects exploring Technology Enhanced Learning in typically developing children and children with autism. Her research interests also include using participatory action research to promote communication and play skills in children with autism and SPMLD and staff/parent training using videos. Lila has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and has also presented her work worldwide (i.e. UK, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, France, USA and Brazil). Her view on the TAE project:
‘I am extremely happy that I am now able to apply the knowledge I gained from studying and working in the UK to my home country, Greece. It is also very exciting to work with ex-colleagues and friends from across Europe to fulfil our vision for better education for children with autism’.
