You might be inspired by our redbrick buildings, our vibrant University community, or some of the academics whose groundbreaking work has moulded today’s world. Just be sure it’s authentically Birmingham and imaginatively highlights our birthday celebrations. The winning design will be on sale at University of Birmingham Gift Shop and in Unique, University Centre.

Sustainability is one of Food Fellows’ pillars, so of course we’ve checked the credentials of our tote bags. They’re made from 40% recycled plastic bottles and 60% recycled cotton and you can use them again and again – for 125 years, perhaps!
- The Tote-ally 125 competition is open to all students at University of Birmingham.
- All entries need to be on A4 portrait and submitted via the link by midnight on Sunday 9 March 2025 in JPEG or PNG formats, not exceeding 10MB.
- Entrants give Campus Services Marketing implicit permission to finesse designs to make them fit for reproducing on merchandise.
- The design may not be limited to use on tote bags; it may appear on other merchandise in the future.
- The winner is not entitled to any commission, income or payment from the proceeds of sales using the winning design.
- Entries which feature political slogans or messaging will be disqualified.
- Designs must be original and not infringe on any third-party rights. Offensive, inappropriate, or plagiarized designs will be disqualified.
- The judges’ decision is final.
- We reserve the right to withdraw from all or part of the terms of the competition, or modify the terms at any time.
- We will contact the winner via the information submitted via the form.
- The £125 voucher prize can be spent in a single transaction at Unique in University Centre and may not be exchanged for a cash prize or any other prize.
- The winner is responsible for arranging collection of their prize.
- The winner must be willing to participate in marketing activity, and appear in photography and video for social media and web content.
- By submitting a design, participants grant University of Birmingham a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display the design for promotional and commercial purposes. Participants retain ownership of their designs.
- University of Birmingham has authority to set and adjust the pricing of the merchandise that uses the winning design.
