On 29th May 2012 the Pharmaceutical Research Institute (PRI) celebrated its 60th Anniversary under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Waldemar Pawlak. The celebration was organized in the Royal Castle in
Warsaw. The Guests were invited to visit the exhibition of Institute's achievements in the years 2007-2012, which was presented in the Concert Room. The official anniversary session in the Great Assembly Hall was opened with a lecture presented by PRI's Director Janusz
Obukowicz, who spoke about selected accomplishments of the Institute as well as current situation and perspectives for the future.
After the lecture, numerous Guests, including the representatives of government administration, science as well as pharmaceutical and chemical industry, expressed their congratulations and best wishes to the Institute. Then, the distinguished PRI employees were awarded
with government medals as well as the Honorary Award for the Merit to the Pharmaceutical Research Institute. After the official celebration, an anniversary dinner was organized in the Great Treasury.
To commemorate the anniversary a special book titled 60 years of the Pharmaceutical Research Institute 1952-2012 was issued. The book presents historical achievements (lists of commercialisations, awards, publications, patents) and current organisation structure of the Institute. Dedicated issue of the Chemical Industry (journal No. 3 / 2012) presented scientific aspects of current research projects.
