Engineering and Physical Sciences Outreach Events

The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences organises annual events for school students to come on to campus and learn about our subjects.

These events cover the wide variety of subjects on offer within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Individual Schools and Departments also organise events about their own subjects.

Birmingham Popular Maths Lectures

A series of lectures for those with an interest in maths, with a particular focus on supporting the discovery of what you can do with maths, to individuals studying A-levels.

Maths and Science Discovery Day - Year 8

An opportunity for Year 8 students to explore different areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through interactive workshops, and discover what they can go onto do by studying Maths and Science at school.

Girls in STEM Day -Year 9 girls 

An inspiring day of interactive activities and talks to encourage Year 9 girls to continue studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at GCSE, A-level and beyond.

Women in STEM Day - Year 10 girls

A careers-focused outreach event for Year 10 girls, designed to challenge their perceptions of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers, and inspire them to continue to study STEM subjects at A Level and beyond.

Climate Change Challenge - Year 10 

The Climate Change Challenge - Year 10 is a chance for Year 10 pupils to discover challenges the world faces around climate change and sustainability, and find solutions to slow down or stop these issues.
