oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at the University of Birmingham is a society dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ students studying, or with an interest in, STEM subjects! We welcome undergraduates and postgraduates from across the University and organise a range of events. We run LGBTQ+ speaker events throughout the year as well as our annual conference: STEM, LGBTQ and You. Our social events include weekly coffee socials, weekly quizzes, and watch parties!
For the upcoming academic year 2020/21, oSTEM will be moving our activities to virtual platforms until further notice. We will constantly review our approach and inform our members of any changes to the way we’re running things.
You can find out more on our Facebook page, @oSTEM_bham on Twitter, and ostembirmingham on Instagram. If you'd like to chat to us please email us using: ostem@guild.bham.ac.uk
