Our active and highly successful student societies form an integral part of our community; providing an avenue for students to interact with one another, supplement their studies, engage with alumni and industrial professionals, and volunteer in the local community.
We are home to a diverse mix of student societies with some of the University's most specialist teams and campaign groups. From exploring the Universe to railways, programming robotics to gaming, internationally competitive automotive teams to sustainable engineering, science communication and diversity, our students do astonishing work not just in academia but also to promote career opportunities, outreach, volunteering and, of course, sporting and social events. We're also home to some of the University's oldest and largest societies, with two even pre-dating the institution, and some of it's newest (some are so new they're not even on the website yet)! Not forgetting our 12 subject-based groups and three College-wide sports teams. There really is something for everyone!
Can't see your interest listed here? No problem! You can always start a new society. Email us to get started.
Are you a current or prospective student? Then join your student society today! Each of our 41 societies has it's own website with latest news and social media links so there's plenty of ways for you to get involved.
