Romeo N Juliet 4EVA
The University of Birmingham in collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company will be hosting a screening of Romeo N Juliet 4EVA. Created by British-Jamaican filmmaker, Paul Bucknor, Romeo N Juliet 4EVA is a vibrant, dynamic adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless romantic tragedy, with compelling performances and a delightful reggae soundtrack.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on why, across generations and continents, we continue to engage with Shakespeare’s work. Panel members include filmmaker, Paul Bucknor, the University of Birmingham’s new Chancellor, Sandie Okoro, and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Director of Creative Learning and Engagement, Jacqui O’Hanlon.
Tickets are free for this event, but registration is required.
Please join us at 18:00 for a drinks reception which will be followed by the film screening and panel discussion.
This event is part of the University of Birmingham's Black History Month October 2024.
