Mehdi Yousefi is a member of the Birmingham Centre for Evidence and Implementation Science (BCEIS), specialising in health economics and health technology assessment. His research focuses on multiple and single technology assessments, systematic literature reviews, decision modelling for health economic evaluations, household health costs and expenditures, micro-costing in healthcare services, and hospital productivity analysis.
With nearly a decade of experience as academic staff in health economics and management at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS), Mehdi also served as the Director of the Centre for University Policy Research and Development at MUMS for two years.
His research interests include health technology appraisal, systematic literature review, decision modelling for health economic evaluations, and costing and hospital productivity analysis.
In addition to his academic work, Mehdi brings significant leadership experience from his tenure as CEO of a 1,000-bed general hospital, where he led research groups focused on hospital productivity using action research methods.
