HSMC Dubai will be launching an MSc in Global Health System Leadership at the Dubai campus in January 2025.
The programme will be aimed at medical and healthcare professionals and policy makers from a variety of non/clinical backgrounds. It will be open to all from across the globe but will have a particular focus on those working in the Emirates and neighbouring Eastern Mediterranean Region.
At its core is the ambition to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies that speak to the essential public health functions needed to achieve universal health coverage (UHC). This means building resilient health systems and workforce, as well as extending leadership capabilities to meet the goals of UHC and sustainable development.
The modules embedded in the programme will focus on:
- Global Health Leadership and Management
- Global Health Systems and Policy
- Strategic Planning
- Global Health Economics
- Emergency Preparedness Response and Resilience; and
- Implementation Science
Increasingly there is an expectation from employers that those in middle and senior positions have acquired the attributes inherent in postgraduate study and can demonstrate this through problem solving, supporting, and facilitating other members of the multidisciplinary team and through their leadership in work environments.
On this basis our programme will offer provision through full and/or part time routes, offering non-medical healthcare practitioners who wish to extend their education the opportunity to study whilst working. It will also offer short course options with PG Certificate and PG Diploma options.
