Yao Jiang, graduated with an academic Master's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Minzu University of China. Her master’s supervisors were Dr. Junyu Guo and Professor Jun Jin. She has been awarded the China National Scholarship, Xiaomi Special Scholarship (Total 10 places in the university) of Minzu University of China, as well as the titles of Outstanding Graduate of Beijing and Outstanding Graduate of Minzu University of China. In September 2024, she studied for her PhD at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on the environmental behavior and human health risks of emerging contaminants and persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

Research

Environmental behavior and human exposure risk assessment of emerging contaminants and persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Yao's research focuses on:

Assessing human dermal exposure to microplastic additive chemicals using in vitro bioaccessibility models.
Evaluating human exposure risks and health impacts of methylsiloxanes in elderly and occupational populations.
Investigating the distribution of methylsiloxanes in various environmental media (indoor air, dust, outdoor atmosphere, soil, etc.) within typical industrial zones, such as refineries, and assessing health risks for nearby residential populations.
Studying the environmental behavior of methylsiloxanes in diverse urban environments.
