The Risk Work programme is a new professional development course for Community Health Workers, created in collaboration between researchers based at the University of Birmingham, community health work organisations and The Hearth Centre (http://thehearthcentre.org.uk), through funding received from the Economic and Social Research Council (ERSC) Impact fund.

The five-session programme allows community health work practitioners to explore the role of risk in their work and trigger discussion about some of the issues that CHWs might find most complex and what organisations can do to support them.

This free event will officially launch the programme, showcasing material, including four short films about the work of Community Health Workers developed especially for this training programme, exploring the experiences of CHWs and their clients. It's a chance to hear about the latest research in this area, meet colleagues and perhaps spark future collaboration.

The launch event will be delivered on Tuesday 2nd October between 5.30-7.30pm at the Bryant Room, MAC Birmingham (https://macbirmingham.co.uk). Refreshments will be provided. Attendance is free but you will need to reserve a place and places are limited.
