MSc Midwifery
Our new MSc Midwifery programme has been developed in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) 2019 Standards for Midwifery and is the ideal opportunity for current registered adult nurses to expand on their existing skills and knowledge, moving into the maternal care sector. You will undertake a shortened two-year route into practising midwifery via a blended learning approach whereby you will benefit from interprofessional learning opportunities providing you with the best possible training opportunities. In addition to the MSc in Midwifery, for learners who are currently employed in an appropriate clinical role, we now offer a Midwifery Degree Apprenticeship.

MSc Nursing
This two-year postgraduate programme leads to eligibility to register as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in either adult or mental health nursing. With a thorough grounding in concepts of health derived from the study of the biological and social sciences, professional studies and communication skills, you will develop the professional disciplinary knowledge and understanding of your preferred field of practice of nursing (adult or mental health). This is underpinned by the acquisition of the professional leadership and research skills you will need to practice and manage evidence-based person centered care as a registered nurse.

Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing (40-credit course)
The Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing course equips nurses, pharmacists, midwives, physiotherapists and podiatrists with the skills required to manage and prescribe for patients safely and effectively. The course is designed around the core principles of safe and effective prescribing practice for application across therapeutic areas and clinical specialities in a variety of settings. On successful completion, you will be awarded the Practice Certificate in Independent Prescribing.

Continuing Professional Development
From April 2016 all nurses and midwives in the UK have to go through the process of revalidation to maintain their registration with the NMC. Many of our modules within our programmes can be taken as short courses either with no academic accreditation for CPD purposes or with accreditation that can be counted at a later date.
