Travelling
Flights to Birmingham (BHX) are available from a large number of UK, European and worldwide cities. There is a frequent rail service from the airport, via the Birmingham International rail station, into the city centre (New Street Station) and trains take about 10 minutes.
The Fazeley Studios conference venue, located in the centre of Birmingham is easily accessible from Birmingham Airport.
The University of Birmingham Edgbaston campus has its own train station, University, and is 7 minutes from the city centre (via London Midland trains in the direction of Longbridge / Redditch).

Things to do in Birmingham
The Fazeley Studios conference venue is within walking distance of the renowned shopping centres of the Bull Ring, The Mailbox and the new Grand Central at New Street rail station, or you could choose to take a relaxed walk (or a boat trip) along Birmingham’s charming canal side with surrounding bars, cafes and restaurants. You could even stroll from the Mailbox area along the canal out to the University of Birmingham.
During your stay you will have the opportunity to see some of Birmingham’s cultural and historical highlights. If you have a couple of hours to spare, you may wish to experience some of Birmingham’s industrial heritage trail, and visit the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and the nearby Coffin Works or Cadbury World situated at Bournville. You could also visit the ThinkTank science museum, or the secret garden at the new Birmingham Library. If you want to venture a little further why not book a place on a Blue Badge Guided Tour or a City Sightseeing Tour during your stay?
Things to do on or around the University of Birmingham campus include a visit to the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, which is home to an outstanding collection of Old Master and 19th-century art, including masterpieces by Simone Martini, Bellini, Rubens, Murillo and Gainsborough; and the Winterbourne House and Gardens, a restored Edwardian house set within seven acres of beautiful botanical gardens containing over 6,000 plant species from around the world. ICEENN2017 attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the University’s newly refurbished Lapworth Museum of Geology.
