IET accreditation
Our BEng and MEng programmes* are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), making them well-recognised and respected qualifications among employers.
*The Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering degrees are new and are therefore not eligible for accreditation until the first cohort graduates.
The accreditation our programmes have received for over a quarter of a century provides employers with assurances that our graduates have the qualities they seek.

This is a research-rich department, the majority our research was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. This means that the specialist course modules and projects you choose at Birmingham are taught by active researchers developing the systems and technology of the future.

From the very beginning of your degree we will provide guidance in giving presentations, technical writing, preparing your CV and gaining the professional skills expected of a graduate engineer.
