Biography

While doing my BA in English Language and Literature, I had my first teaching experience as an EFL teacher when I was offered a paid internship in a State Experimental Lower Secondary School and a Primary School in Greece. In 2018, I was specialised in Foreign Language Learning and Teaching, attended a CELTA course organised by Cambridge Assessment English, and received my QTS certificate issued by the UK Government. After seven years of teaching experience with young learners, teenagers, and adults across all English proficiency levels, I started my PhD programme in English Language and Applied Linguistics aiming at differentiating English Language Teaching and Learning.

Teaching

  • February 2014-today EFL Teacher (Oxford International Education, Embassy Summer School, UK/Private Language Schools & State Schools in Greece/Sapienza University, Rome, Italy/Private Tutoring English Lessons)

Research

My research aims at providing theoretical and practical insights into language learning and teaching. The impact of technology-enhanced language learning on learners' motivation, in-class attention, and language skills (i.e., oral proficiency, listening comprehension, polysemous words, grammar, and syntax) is being investigated via a classroom intervention study. Practical insights into technology use in class will be considered based on the learners' individual differences. My goal is to understand which activities enhance learners’ cognitive abilities and lay the foundations for successful language learning.
