The Urban Festival & The Art of Happiness in Cities Photographic Exhibition
- Location
- Edgbaston Park Hotel 53 Edgbaston Park Road Birmingham B15 2RS
- Dates
- Tuesday 22 October (10:00) - Friday 25 October 2019 (15:00)
The Urban Festival consists a series of events to explore different angles from which the University of Birmingham Business School is engaging with the city, policy makers and society at large. It was inspired by the School’s Happiness in Cities project, which aims to understand how different communities across Birmingham contribute to the city's development and how this diversity can help us build happier cities.
According to the United Nations, 68% of the world population will live in urban areas by 2050. Yet, modern cities still fail to maximize people's potential. Using the city of Birmingham as an example, the Happiness in Cities project aims to understand how different communities across Birmingham contribute to the city's development and how this diversity can help us build happier cities.
Each day of the festival will take place in the Lloyd Room at the University of Birmingham Edgbaston Park Hotel within a unique photographic exhibition inspired by the Happiness in Cities Project.
The Art of Happiness in Cities Exhibition has been produced by Alexander Kharlamov using Film Photography & Silver Gelatin Fine Printing. The exhibition features many different communities from all parts of Birmingham to showcase diversity, inclusivity and multi-cultural vibrancy of city.
