Speaker
Dr Caroline Essers (Radboud University Nijmegen and IAS Distinguished Visiting Fellow)
Overview
Come along to this interactive discussion about women and entrepreneurship, where visiting Fellow Dr. Caroline Essers, from Radbound University, Nijmegen, will interactively discuss how female entrepreneurs are being pictured in the media and the literature. Together, we will discuss the desirability of comparing male and female entrepreneurs, and elaborate certain typologies of female entrepreneurs. We will then discuss more social constructivist approaches in which gender and entrepreneurship can be seen as intertwined practices. This will allow those present to focus on the deconstruction of the ‘female entrepreneur’.
