Central to the work of the Institute for Mental Health is the meaningful involvement of young experts by experience. The IMH Youth Advisory Group (IMH YAG) is a group formed of young people aged 18 – 25 with lived experience of mental health challenges and/or experience of supporting someone with mental health challenges. Since the YAG’s formation in October 2018, the depth and breadth of its involvement in the activity of the IMH has grown, ranging from involvement at all stages of the research cycle, co-facilitating events and contributing to teaching for UoB students.
In recent years, the IMH has been awarded Quality-Related (QR) funding to enhance practices around the involvement of young experts by experience in mental health research. In this seminar, members of the IMH community and partner organisations will showcase work undertaken to develop best practice guide for involving young experts by experience in mental health research and identify ways of enhancing existing youth involvement practices within the IMH.
This Webinar is open to all. Registration in advance is required.
