Communities in Energy Transition Engaging with Net Zero in Birmingham
- Location
- Birmingham Energy Innovation centre at Tyseley Energy Park
- Dates
- Thursday 3 November 2022 (10:00-15:00)
As the UK and countries world-wide face an energy crisis, join us at the Birmingham Energy Innovation Centre for a walk-in exhibit exploring the issues of new domestic heating technology (e.g. hydrogen gas boilers and heat pumps), likely changes in heating practices, why changes need to happen, and the needs of communities.
This exhibit encourages everyone, even those with no prior knowledge of local energy initiatives, to learn more from researchers who are working on these projects, as well as enhancing relationships between the community, academic researchers and local governments. This will also be a chance to meet the team behind the Energy Transition project in East Birmingham.
The event will include two main exhibit areas. The first will be an interactive display area including videos and recorded presentations that provide information on local energy projects. The exhibit room will also have a ‘meet the team’ opportunity allowing attendees to engage with members of the practical and research teams.
The second area will be an open exhibit showcasing posters of the latest developments in the different areas of East Birmingham. A number of engaging and fun activities, such as mapping neighbourhoods, will allow attendees to interact with the researchers and learn more about these important initiatives.
This is an open drop-in event and everyone is welcome to attend.
