Dr Halima Sacranie
CHASM Honorary Research Fellow
Halima completed her PhD at the University of Birmingham in 2011, working with Professor David Mullins to establish the Housing and Communities Research Group (HCRG), which she led from 2018 to 2023. In 2024, she became Director of Housing Research at the Centre for the New Midlands. Her recent research includes the EU-funded CHARM project on circular housing, studies on housing quality and wellbeing, and research on gambling and tenancy insecurity. Halima is currently evaluating the West Midlands Social Housing Quality Fund and has extensive experience in housing policy research, including work funded by major foundations. She is also a Research Fellow at Aston University and a Trustee of Climate Outreach.
