Ioanna is one of our former BEAR Champions.

What is your research background and current field of research?

My research background lies in physiotherapy, and my current focus is on computer-based cognitive testing. Specifically, I am pursuing a PhD exploring computer-based assessment methods for unilateral spatial neglect following stroke.

Which BEAR Services have been most helpful to you in your research?

I have completed BEAR training workshops in the past and I found them very helpful. I am currently using the BEAR storage service [BEAR Research Data Store].

In the next phases of my research, I intend to use the BlueBear supercomputer [BlueBEAR], as well as the coding advice and coaching services provided by the BEAR Research Software Group.

How widespread do you think BEAR Services are known in your School and how do you plan to spread the word?

The awareness of BEAR Services in our school appears to be limited, with only a few individuals familiar with it. To expand its recognition, I intend to inform fellow PGR students within our school about the range of BEAR services. Additionally, I believe it would be beneficial to establish a connection between the BEAR team and our school's research events, such as PGR DAY, enabling them to provide brief presentations highlighting the offerings of BEAR.

What's an interesting fact about you?

An interesting fact about me is that I've travelled to over 20 countries and I can speak five different languages.
