Assistant Professor in Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering
What is your Academic background and current research field?
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering. My particular focus is in resilience assessment of power systems and related infrastructure. I am developing methods to enhance operational awareness of distributed energy resources and proactively respond to weather and climate related events.
Which BEAR Services have been most helpful to you in your research?
Keeping with the theme of resilience, the Research Data Store (RDS) is a great way to store research data in a way that is safe-guarded against a variety of failures. The in-person support via BEAR’s software coaching has also greatly enhanced the reproducibility and efficiency of my work.
How widespread do you think BEAR Services are known in your School and how do you plan to spread the word?
I think that there could be more utilisation of BEAR services amongst PGRs in the School and plan to spread the word to incoming students at induction events as well as through the School’s Student Staff Forum.
