Boutheina Nedjai

Boutheina_25cmResearch Fellow, School of Mathematics

What is your role in the University?

I am joining as a Research Fellow within the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. My research focuses on software as a research output, examining how it is developed, recognised, and submitted within academia. This involves gathering data, analysing institutional and disciplinary practices, and developing guidance to improve the recognition and submission of research software.

Which BEAR Services are most relevant to your area?

BEAR Storage and BEAR Data Transfer are particularly relevant to my interest, as handling large datasets efficiently is crucial for analysis. Additionally, the BEAR Software Group and BEAR Training workshops can be valuable for enhancing my technical skills and ensuring I use the best tools available for data processing and visualisation.

How widespread do you think BEAR Services are known in your area and how do you help spread the word?

I believe there is still room for more awareness of BEAR Services, especially among colleagues who handle large amounts of data but may not be aware of the resources available. I plan to share my experiences with BEAR, encourage discussions about its benefits, and provide guidance to those who might find these services useful.

How can researchers in your School/College contact you?

Researchers can reach out to me via email or through internal communication channels. I am always open to discussions about data analysis, storage, and tools that can help streamline research and reporting.

What's an interesting fact about you?

I have a background in software engineering and a passion for data analytics. I enjoy bridging the gap between technical solutions and real-world decision-making, and I love exploring new ways to visualise and interpret data effectively.
