The Combinatorics, Probability and Algorithms Group has received a number of research grants from funding bodies over the years. Here we talk about the grants and the projects they helped fund.
- Dr Matthew Jenssen was awarded £911,023 for the EPSRC-funded project Statistical Physics Methods in Combinatorics, Algorithms and Geometry. It lasts from July 2022 to July 2026.
- Dr Allan Lo was awarded £313,512 for the EPSRC-funded project Ramsey theory: an extremal perspective. It lasts from January 2022 to December 2024.
- Dr Andrew Treglown was awarded £313,310 for the EPSRC-funded project Matchings and tilings in graphs. It lasts from March 2021 to February 2024.
- Dr Richard Montgomery was awarded €1,417,365 for the ERC-funded project Spanning subgraphs in graphs. It lasts from January 2021 to December 2025.
- Dr Johannes Carmesin was awarded £1,004,277 for the EPSRC-funded project Graph Minor Theory in three dimensions and Connectivity. It lasts from August 2020 to August 2025.
- Professor Deryk Osthus was awarded £327,342 for the EPSRC-funded project Approximate structure in large graphs and hypergraphs. It lasted from January 2019 to December 2021.
- Professor Daniela Kühn was awarded €1,797,111 for the ERC-funded project Extremal Combinatorics: existence, counting and typical structure. It lasts from January 2019 to December 2023.
- Dr Richard Mycroft was awarded £239,662 for the EPSRC-funded project Properties of extremal and random hypergraphs. It lasts from May 2018 to May 2023.
- Dr Nikolaos Fountoulakis was awarded £269,286 for the EPSRC-funded project Dynamic models of random simplicial complexes. It lasted from December 2017 to December 2020.
- Dr Felix Joos was awarded a Research Fellowship for the DFG-funded project Packing and Covering in Graphs. It lasted from 2017 to 2019.
- Drs Will Perkins and Nikolaos Fountoulakis was awarded £101,206 for the EPSRC-funded project New approaches to Gibbs measures at the interface of probability and computational complexity. It lasted from 2016 to December 2018.
- Dr Allan Lo was awarded £101,125 for the EPSRC-funded project A graph theoretical approach for combinatorial designs. It lasted from November 2016 to October 2018.
- Professor Daniela Kühn was awarded £822,431 for the EPSRC-funded project Combinatorics, Probability and Algorithms. It lasted from September 2016 to August 2021.
- Dr Andrew Treglown was awarded £265,986 for the EPSRC-funded project Independence in groups, graphs and the integers. It lasted from May 2015 to May 2018.
- Professors Daniela Kühn and Deryk Osthus were awarded £258,259 for the EPSRC-funded project Randomized approaches to combinatorial packing and covering problems. It lasted from March 2015 to February 2018.
- Dr Richard Mycroft was awarded £98,059 for the EPSRC-funded project Embeddings in hypergraphs. It lasted from March 2015 to March 2017.
- Dr Dan Hefetz was awarded £96,865 for the EPSRC-funded project Robustness of properties of random and pseudo-random graphs. It lasted from September 2013 to September 2015.
- Dr Nikolaos Fountoulakis was awarded £96,034 for the EPSRC-funded project Inhomogeneity and generalised bootstrap percolation in stochastic networks. It lasted from August 2013 to August 2015.
- Professor Deryk Osthus was awarded €818,414 for the ERC-funded project Asymptotic graph properties. It lasted from December 2012 to November 2018.
- Professors Deryk Osthus and Daniela Kühn were awarded £327,343 for the EPSRC-funded project Edge-colourings and Hamilton decompositions of graphs. It lasted from May 2012 to September 2014.
- Dr Nikolaos Fountoulakis was awarded €100,000 for the ERC-funded project Hyperbolic random graphs. It lasted from September 2011 to August 2015.
- Professor Daniela Kühn was awarded €742,749 for the ERC-funded project Quasirandomness for graphs and hypergraphs. It lasted from December 2010 to November 2015.
- Professors Daniela Kühn and Deryk Osthus, and Dr Diana Piguet, were awarded €185,541 for the ERC-funded project Problems in Extremal Graph Theory. It lasted from October 2010 to October 2014.
- Professors Daniela Kühn and Deryk Osthus were awarded £118,191 for the EPSRC-funded project Directed graphs and the regularity method. It lasted from October 2007 to March 2011.
- Professor Deryk Osthus was awarded £177,839 for the EPSRC-funded project Graph expansion and applications. It lasted from August 2007 to November 2009.
