Research into complex phenomena arising in many real-life applications requires the combined expertise of researchers in a wide range of scientific areas.
The Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Chemical Engineering (CMMCE) was born as a result of a number of successful collaborative projects between the School of Chemical Engineering and the School of Mathematics. Current research includes modelling of chemically reacting flows, surface tension driven flows and microfluidics, with applications ranging from pharmaceuticals and drug delivery, to fuel cells and coating.
