New Book Edited by Dr Kevon Rhiney
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new edited book entitled 'Globalization, Agriculture and Food in the Caribbean: Climate Change, Gender and Geography'.
Published by Palgrave MacMillan and co-edited by CARISCC's Kevon Rhiney and colleague Clinton Beckford, this edited collection addresses agricultural and food issues in relation to globalisation and climate change in the Caribbean context. More specifically, the book explores research focusing on rural livelihoods, community-level resilience, adaptability and adaptations. The collection also draws on gendered analyses of such issues and is informed by diverse research methods and methodologies. The book is particularly relevant to scholars in the field of Caribbean Studies who are interested in social, cultural, economic and environmental issues facing Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The book is also a tribute to Professor David Barker, Dr Kevon Rhiney's former doctoral supervisor and now retired Emeritus Professor of Geography in the Department of Geography and Geology, UWI Mona. Additional information on this new book can be found here.
