This module is designed for distance learning to enable students to demonstrate advanced knowledge and clinical skill (up to "certificate" level) in the following subject areas:
- Minimally invasive direct restorative techniques
- Periodontal treatment
- Endodontic treatment
- Fixed and removable prosthodontics
Some content will also be delivered at two face-to-face residential courses and will provide teaching and/or practical simulation experience in the following module 3 subject areas:
- Direct restorative techniques
- Periodontics
- Endodontics
- Fixed and removable prosthodontics

Assessment
- Direct restorative techniques (Simulation) 60%
- Class II composite exercise (Prepare an annotated, step-by-step, photographic presentation, suitable for undergraduate education) (30% of the total module)
- Manage occlusal caries in an extracted natural molar (appropriate to lesion) (30% of the total module)
2. Indirect restorations (Simulation) 40%
Preparation of plastic teeth models for the following indirect restorations:
- Porcelain veneer
- Porcelain-fused-to-metal crown
- All ceramic crown
