Reggae Birmingham and the Windrush Generation Told through Vinyl

Location
Univerity of Birmingham
Dates
Thursday 24 October 2024 (15:30-16:30)

For Black History Month, the University of Birmingham's Music Department welcomes Jayson Wynters (InstagramDiscogsSoundcloud), a local Brummie DJ, curator, record producer, co-founder of Artum Birmingham, and descendant of the Windrush generation.

Drawing on his vinyl collection, he’ll tell stories about the city, his family, and reggae in Birmingham.

The Music Department's Centre for Electronic Music will draw from its vast store of top-quality loudspeakers to provide a proper PA for all the reggae discs. Come join us for this immersive listening experience!
