Throughout Black History Month B Film and the Race Equality Network are collaborating to show a range of films followed by some facilitated discussions.

This screening is of Hidden Figures, the story of the brilliant African-American women working at NASA who served as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Following the Black History Month theme of Reclaiming Narratives, we felt this was a pivotal story to showcase. The film will be introduced and hosted by Dr Leah-Nani Alconcel, a spacecraft engineer and lecturer in the School of Metallurgy and Materials. Dr Leah-Nani is also the Race Equality Lead for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and an active member of the Race Equality Network.
