Throughout Black History Month B Film and the Race Equality Network are collaborating to show a range of films followed by some facilitated discussions.

This screening is of Daughters of the Dust. Set in 1902 the film follows three generations of women on the South Carolina Sea Islands as they prepare to migrate North. This film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and won the Excellence in Cinematography Award. It is also the first film directed by an African American woman to get a theatrical release in the USA.
