Alumni from the Class of 1965 and pre-1965 Golden classes came back to campus on Saturday 12 September to celebrate the anniversary of their graduation from Birmingham over a reunion lunch.
94 alumni travelled from as far as Australia, Korea, Belgium and Germany for this special two-course lunch. The day was an opportunity to meet up with former classmates, and to explore the campus and see what has changed, and indeed what has stayed the same, since their time at Birmingham.
The lunch followed the Guild of Graduates and Alumni Association (GGAA) AGM and Forum, which included a fascinating talk by Professor Ewan Fernie, Chair of Shakespeare Studies and Fellow, Shakespeare Institute.
The reunion lunch also coincided with the University Open Day, giving alumni the opportunity to visit their former schools and departments, as well as meet current students and staff. Alumni could also visit the Guild of Students, Winterbourne House and Garden or the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, or simply take in the buzz on campus.
