At the University there are a number of ways for staff and students to get involved in University sustainability activities, to share good practice and ideas and to help shape future initiatives. These include:
- Becoming a Sustainability Ambassador: As a staff member or student you will get to network with others wanting to develop and embed sustainability across the University community.
- Birmingham In Action: brings together many of the University’s charitable projects, to tackle five key challenges that face our generation and the next.
- Since October 2019 all University staff have been entitled to a volunteering allowance of one day each year to volunteer locally. Whilst the hours given will form and be celebrated as part of the campaign, this allowance is part of the University’s wider commitment to both the professional development of our staff and our civic responsibilities to our city and region.
For students, the Guild’s Jobs, Skills and Volunteering team run activities throughout the year allowing you to make a difference in the community.
Your generosity could help students and researchers
