The Grow with Joe community garden is a student-led growing project, managed and maintained by the Birmingham University Conservation Volunteers (BUCV).
The garden is situated on the University campus on the edge of the Green Heart, and has been growing organic produce since opening in 2019.
Volunteers look after the site throughout the year. The garden produces fruit and vegetables, but also includes flowers to support pollinators. The site does not use pesticides or artificial fertilisers; BUCV’s aim is to for the garden to coexist with the eco-system around the site.

The site accepts household compostable items such as vegetable peeling, egg shells, etc. Unfortunately biodegradable bags of any kind cannot be accepted.
