Framing for Systems Leadership
We know that people make sense of the world through mental shortcuts -or frames -and advances in brain science are demonstrating just how fundamental framing is to the way that we respond to the information that we receive. While social and political campaigners have known this for years, we are now coming to understand that these insights are no less relevant to developing effective leadership across sectoral, organizational, professional and other boundaries.
You will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of frames and framing and to apply these insights to challenges you and your organization are facing. We will explore the ways in which you frame the challenges you are facing, the partners you are working with and the ways in which you and your organization are framed in turn. Turning form analysis to action we will explore your opportunities for reframing and how you can use ‘explanatory metaphors’ to help you.
