Careers Network

Careers Network is continuously enhancing its range and quality of service to support our students to identify and achieve their individual career aspirations.

Careers Network offers a diverse range of services to our students and graduates, including dedicated advice and guidance teams made up of professionally qualified Careers Consultants and advisers. We have developed an extensive careers information provision via the Careers Network website and our dedicated careers platform Careers Connect. Through this platform students can book appointments and events, access specialised self-service learning pathways and search for opportunities.

Through the My Attributes service, students are given the tools to recognise their own strengths and weaknesses and receive tailored content to develop. This can be used to contribute towards The Birmingham Award. This programme enables students to undertake additional training and development alongside their courses, producing excellent supporting evidence for career management and job applications, whilst also receiving a formal recognition via The Birmingham Award itself on their transcripts.

Each year, Careers Network engages with over 300 employers on campus, a mixture of subject-specific and a range of graduate recruitment fairs and events. Our Work Experience offer enables students to access work experience opportunities, internships, and volunteering greatly enhancing student skill development and employability.

For students interested in developing their own ventures; they can expect to receive advice and support through our B-Enterprise Programme. Based at The Exchange our UoB Elevate offer is an incubator and business growth programme, supporting students and graduates, alongside the wider Birmingham community.
