MSci Mathematics
"Take time to do all the fun stuff. The University offers so many things to do all the time, so make your experience memorable and fun."
Why did you originally apply to do your chosen course at Birmingham?
I saw the amount of support that the School of Maths offered with family schemes, tutor groups, peer assisted sessions and knew that I’d always be helped and supported.
What do you think are the best points of your course?
My favourite aspect of studying Maths here is seeing all of the possible career paths the subject can lead into, through the modules that get us working on real industry problems.
What’s the best thing about studying at the University of Birmingham?
The best thing about studying here is that there is always something to do on campus, in the accommodation blocks or in the School of Maths with free food and activities.
What’s your highlight of your time at the University?
Joining the Archery club has been the highlight of my time here, making loads of new lifelong mates, travelling for competitions and just having fun.
What advice would you give to students thinking about studying on the course?
If you don’t understand something, don’t worry, everyone else is in the same boat. Nobody is going to understand things first time round so don’t get yourself down if it feels like a lot.
