IRIS IAM Service Manager, Science and Technologies Facilities Council
Tom's job is to ensure academics across the country have the computing resources and authentication they need to conduct their research. He says the most inspiring thing about his role is that he's able to work alongside global research and support significant discoveries.
As a student Tom was involved with the Poynting Physics Society where he was President in his final year and later Alumni Consultant for the departmental society. He was also part of several gaming student groups and a founding committee member of the EPS Societies' Awards.
“Go to all your lectures! Really what I'd say is make sure you get involved in societies, make sure you meeting people. It may sound cheesy but the friends you make at Birmingham will be friends for life, both among the lectures and among your peers.”
