What is the best thing about what you are doing now?
I love the flexibility to work on different projects where I am not limited to one area!
What made you interested in your current role?
I actually went through a career change and decided to take a gamble and upskill myself in a programming language. After spending a couple of years as a software quality engineer, I decided to persue the people leadership path as I really enjoyed mentoring people.
How has your career developed since graduating from the University of Birmingham?
I think I have completely changed as a person since I left university as I was quite unsure what to do next and didn't really having a clear career path to follow. Since then, I have worked in multiple industries and jobs and developed more self confidence.
What skills you learned from your degree or time at University would you say you use most in your job?
My attention to detail is one of my best transferrable skills from my Mathematics degree. When you are working through a problem, the last thing you want is to get 85% through and realise you made a tiny mistake in first few lines of the solution. It all has a domino effect through, so this mindset of paying attention to detail has helped me in my work.
