This module introduces students to the benefits and challenges of interdisciplinary research and impact. Through a series of case studies, students will learn about how interdisciplinary research can address global issues and how "impact" is conceptualised, planned for, implemented, and measured. These case studies – including School interdisciplinary research and REF impact cases – will be presented, before being interrogated through a series of seminars during which we will critically examine the major barriers to conducting interdisciplinary research and producing impactful research and how to overcome them.
