Year Two
This module builds upon the first year sports science module in further exploring the role of sport science in the development of golf performance. Students will examine the biomechanics of the golf swing and how this relates to the physical affordances of the human body. Physical screening of movement and the training interventions to address limitations identified and improve performance will be studied. Students will also become aware of the risks of injury, importance of building a network with sport scientists.
This module is a progression from the year 1 module (Introduction to Golf Coaching and Sports Science). In this module students will further develop their knowledge of the coaching framework, and how it can be applied to a range of players and their performance.
