Biography

Vanshika Agarwal completed her graduate studies in Dental Surgery at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, India and went on to earn a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Birmingham. She has worked as a Research Assistant on various impactful projects before taking up her current role as a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham.

Currently not supervising postgraduate students but open to enquiries from prospective Master's or PhD students interested in areas such as public health, child nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), non-communicable disease management, and culturally tailored health interventions.

Research

Vanshika Agarwal’s research interests center on advancing public health through rigorous health research. Her work focuses on areas such as child nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and non-communicable disease management, particularly in underserved populations. She is passionate about leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to explore health behaviors, assess intervention effectiveness, and identify culturally relevant solutions to health inequities. Vanshika aims to contribute to evidence-based strategies that inform policy, improve healthcare delivery, and promote sustainable health outcomes.

  • Advocacy Associate Volunteer, Menstrual Rights Global, UK (Feb 2024 – Sep 2024): Led advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about menstrual health, engaged with stakeholders to promote policy changes, and coordinated social media initiatives to enhance outreach.
  • Volunteer Program Coordinator, Muskurahat Foundation, India (Apr 2022 – May 2022): Organized health awareness workshops focused on child education, nutrition, and health, while coordinating fundraising activities to support community programs.
  • NCSCT Certified Stop Smoking Practitioner (Since 2024): Provides smoking cessation guidance as part of a broader effort to promote public health and reduce tobacco-related harm.
  • Consultant Dentist, TruSmiles Dental & Implant Clinic, India (May 2023 – Sep 2023): Delivered personalized dental care while conducting community workshops on oral hygiene and tobacco cessation.
