I am currently working as a Research Fellow in the School of Psychology. I previously worked as a Senior Academic Tutor teaching, supporting and supervising students on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate. I am a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in using CBT and am BABCP accredited. My clinical interests are in mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and PTSD which respond well to CBT and also in working psychologically with people with psychosis. In particular, I am interested in early psychosis and intervention for this. My own research is largely focussed on the experience of people with psychosis and their families of intervention for this (psychological, multi-disciplinary and inpatient) and also in experience of and evaluation of psychological interventions more widely - usually CBT. I am experienced in both qualitative and qualitative methods within psychology.

Teaching

I teach as a visiting lecturer on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme and the generic Diploma and High Intensity Diploma in CBT. I teach research methods and clinical models and skills.

Postgraduate supervision

I supervise applied psychological research in clinical areas, in particular psychosis, bipolar disorder and interventions for this.

Research

My role as a Research Fellow is to provide psychological and research expertise to two NIHR funded research projects. I am a Co-applicant on both of these grants. One is investigating the efficacy of a novel CBT intervention for patients with arterial fibrillation. The other is looking at how patient and carer feedback is collected and utilised in inpatient units across the UK. I have recently completed an action research project on hospitalisation in early psychosis, conducted in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
