Professor Andrew Worrall is the Technical Authority for Reactors and Fuels at the UK National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL). Andrew has more than 18 years of professional experience working in fields related to fuel and reactor analysis and design, plutonium disposition and fuel cycle assessment; technical, non-proliferation, policy and economics. In his role, he has responsibility for the overall technical strategy, direction and delivery of multi-disciplinary programmes associated with reactors and fuels. He joined the University of Birmingham in February 2011 on a visiting Professorship through the Royal Academy of Engineering with a remit to strengthen and develop links with, particularly, the research side of the nuclear industry and to contribute his expertise in other ways such as industrial lectures. Professor Worrall is a graduate of the University of Birmingham's MSc in Physics & Technology of Nuclear Reactors, and the current Chairman of the Industrial Steering Group for that course.
