Amy has an undergraduate degree in Classical Studies from the University of Exeter. Following a year of teaching English in China with the British Council, Amy completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School.
On qualification, Amy worked as a Commercial Property solicitor for Gowling WLG focussing on large scale property transactions. After a number of years, Amy moved into the Corporate Responsibility team where she oversaw the firm’s pro bono activities as well as other CR initiatives.
Amy joined Birmingham Law School in November 2020, as a Supervising Solicitor and Pro Bono Manager, to coordinate and supervise a multitude of pro bono projects. She has regular contact with student members of the Pro Bono Group, who undertake the pro bono work. Amy has a particular interest in pro bono and its role within clinical legal education and is a member of the Clinical Legal Education Organisation and the Birmingham Law Society’s Pro Bono Committee.
