I hold a PhD in Translation Studies (2020, Durham University).
My research sits at the intersection of translation and cultural studies, with a particular focus on Qur’an translation as a social activity. I have studied the social role of Qur’an translation in the context of Saudi Arabia in the twenty-first century, and the role of translators played in the politicisation of Qur’an translation.
At Birmingham University, I teach courses in translation technology, translating for business as well as contribute to the specialised English-Arabic module.
