Dr Bagkou Dimakou is a postdoctoral researcher with an interest in reproductive immunology. Her research focuses on the role of Natural Killer (NK) cells in recurrent pregnancy loss.

Biography

Dr Bagkou Dimakou qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Essex in 2017 and went on to earn her MSc in Immunology in Immunology and Immunotherapy degree from the University of Birmingham in 2018.

She completed her PhD in 2022, investigating peripheral immune responses in women with recurrent pregnancy loss, with the support of the Tommy’s charity.

She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Clinical Immunology Service. Her research interests are focussed around the immune mechanisms underlying pregnancy loss, as part of an ongoing collaboration with the Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research.
