Luke joined the College of Medicine and Health Digital Education Team at the University of Birmingham in 2018. As part of his responsibilities, Luke is responsible for implementing continuous professional development within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences. He also supports academics with a variety of digital tools, including a Virtual Learning Environment, Online Portfolio Tool, and Lecture Capture Software incorporating a combination of design and pedagogical techniques.

Luke has a background in video and film production, specialising in narrative and documentary productions. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of video production, including pre-production, production, and post-production, as well as expertise in screenwriting, videography, and editing.

Other activities

Luke’s interests include developing training materials to assist with the use of educational tools. In addition to, developing pedagogically sound and user-friendly approaches to many of Tools what are used across the institution. With a particular interest in Assessment and Feedback, Degree Apprentices, Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC), Instructional Design and the use of both audio and video in education allowing him to draw on his past experiences.
